My CPNet partner picked up my customer, but I don't use all of the same items/services. How do I bill the customer?

It's common that CPNet partners do not have the exact same item/service list. You can use the Match CPNet Partner Items/Services and Create Item/Service Sets tools to help in this process, or the partner's item can have its own set of rules.

One option you have is to simply create rules that cover your partner's items/services. When creating new rules, you will see an option to select an affiliate. Choose the proper affiliate, and then the item/service list will be populated with that affiliate's list.

Instead of creating rules, you have the option of matching the partner's items/services to your own.

When to use Match Items/Services vs when to create an item/service set:

Match Items/Services is best when you are matching 1 to 1 or if you want each item/service type that your partner uses to act independently.

Here are some scenarios to help explain how this works in practice:

  1. Your partner has a 7 gal container and you have a small chemo waste container that are the same, you would use Match Items/Services and whenever your partner picks up a 7 gal container your billing rules would translate this to bill for a small chemo waste container.
  2. This time your partner uses both 7 gal and 9 gal containers and you would treat both as an 8 gal container. You want to use the match items/services ONLY IF you want the 7 gal and the 9 gal to be treated as independent 8 gal containers. This means if you charge $80 for your 1st 8 gal container and $20 for each 8 gal container there after and your partner picks up a 7 gal container and a 9 gal container, the system would calculate a charge of $160 ($80 for the 7 gal and $80 for the 9 gal).

Item/Service Sets are best to use when you want all items/services within the set to be treated interchangeably.

How does this work in practice?

Let's revisit example 2 above, your partner uses both 7 gal and 9 gal containers and you would treat both as an 8 gal container. You charge $80 for your 1st 8 gal container and $20 for each 8 gal container there after. This time, if your partner picks up a 7 gal and a 9 gal you want the system to bill $100 ($80 for the first container and $20 for the 2nd container).
