A flat or percentage fee usage tells the system how the fee will function.
Flat Fees
A Per Pickup flat fee will apply per pickup/service. If more than one manifest is generated on a particular day for a particular customer, the per pickup flat fee will only apply once.
The Minimum Per Pickup flat fee usage works in conjunction with rules, and overwrites applicable rule based charges and other fees for a pickup when the minimum fee amount is greater than the applicable charges. A minimum fee will only kick in if the rule charges it is replacing add up to more than $0. The applicable phase plays a part in what charges a minimum fee will override. Here are some examples. If the minimum fee is set to a phase of All, then it will override all charges associated with the service. If the minimum fee is to a phase of Pickup, then it will only override pickup charges and other fees that are designated with an applicable phase of Pickup.
The Per Customer Timeframe flat fee usage is a guaranteed fee for each applicable active customer. If an invoice has not been generated through normal means over the set time period, the Per Customer Timeframe fee will prompt the generation of an invoice. Only active Manifest customers are billed for a timeframe fee. A Timeframe Fee Start Date is used to properly apply a timeframe fee to an active customer for the first time. If no start date is provided, a timeframe fee won't be applied until a pickup or delivery is made. Give your customers a Timeframe Fee Start Date on the billing page under Billing Setup -> Customers -> Customer Billing Settings.
The Per Invoice Timeframe flat fee operates nearly the same way as the Per Customer Timeframe fee. The only difference is how it is applied to a billing group. The Per Invoice Timeframe fee is only applied once per invoice, no matter how many customers make up the billing group that is being invoiced.
Percentage Fees
A Per Pickup percentage fee will apply per pickup/service, taking every charge associated with the pickup/service into account.
The Tax percentage fee usage takes all applicable rules and fees declared as taxable for a particular invoice, grabs a percentage of each of these charges, and adds a tax line item toward the bottom of the invoice. Taxable charges are then reported in the Sales Tax report.
